Mammal Hands - Becoming

Captivating, ethereal and majestic, folk-jazz-minimalists Mammal Hands (saxophonist Jordan Smart, pianist Nick Smart and drummer and percussionist Jesse Barrett) carved out a refreshingly original sound from a disparate array of influences: drawing on spiritual jazz, north Indian, folk and classical music to create something inimitably their own.

Recorded from the same extensive studio sessions as their third album,Shadow Work, Becoming pens with the bold title track, a dynamic and diverse composition that begins with a rhythmical piano and saxophone line, building gradually with textural layers and flourishes before reaching a climatic end reminiscent of math-rock.
